Blog Pizza

Blog Pizza

As you have probably guessed by now, Blog Pizza is a pizza blog about pizza!

Blog Pizza was created with the intentions of uniting the whole pizza world in one place. We have very ambitious goals here (to say the least) but yet attainable. Our mission is to blog about everything to do with pizza (and everything that doesn't - What?). We also hope to make a lot of friends through this blog and learn many things as well.

We are not professional chefs (yet) or anything like that. We just really like pizza. Pizza is a way to bring people together. One day the idea came to start up a blog and run with it. The direction that this blog will take over the next year or so will be interesting because we started with some goals but we may end up somewhere totally different. So far we are already meeting tons of great people and are enjoying this pizza blog.

Discussing pizza online is not all that we will do here. Pizza is about socializing and with that comes dicussions that may be off topic. But that is OK here because this is the idea - to have fun! So welcome to Blog Pizza, the premier pizza blog online, and hope to chat with you soon!

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza

Tonight I had a Philly cheese steak pizza that was double layered.

This cheese steak pizza was Philadelphia style and served in Philly. It was unbelievable! I had two slices but each slice was equivalent to maybe two or three slices because they were so big. I don't know what they were called but you could say that they were double layered meaning that there were two slices rapped around the cheese steak, sauce, cheese, and spices that were inside. You could almost describe it as a cheese steak pizza sandwich.

The crust was so think that you could have put salt on them and it would have been a deep fried pretzel. Actually if you took the crust and separated it from the rest of the pizza you could have easily saved it for a snack later because it was large and filling. It wasn't like normal pizzas where the crust was thin and you couldn't distinguish it from any other side of the pizza. This crust stood out.

Anyway... back to the cheesesteak pizza...

The cheese steak on the pizza was mixed with fried onions and smashed down. It wasn't like a large slice of steak that was just randomly put on top of the pie. It was broken down and strategically placed throughout so that your whole mouth could enjoy it. I actually was considering to get the pepperoni topping but I saw the double layered pie and had to get it.

You might think that posts like this are stupid ... Well, this blog is all about pizza...any topic for any reason and I have decided that I also want to use it to track how much pizza I really eat in one year. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Add comments on this blog every time that you eat pizza. We will tally the whole world's pizza problem and keep score.

Anyway, thanks for reading about my Philly cheese steak pizza!

Free Pizza

There were free pizza pies for possibly eleven thousand people yesterday!

Well, actually the number of people getting the free pies of pizza may have been significantly less depending on how many people were eating them. Domino’s pizza had to honor a promotional code from the internet that had never been activated. The promotion resulted in eleven thousand free pizza pies to their customers. Who was the clever person that found that coupon code? This just goes to show everyone that you really need to keep your eyes out for opportunity when it knocks.

Dominos is definitely admirable for taking that one on the chin because they had to honor their policy and give away the free pizza. 11,000 free pizza pies at five dollars each pizza pie would be fifty five thousand dollars. At ten dollars for each Italian pizza pie would be one hundred and ten thousand dollars of free pizza pies. That’s one expensive mistake for a pizza promotion that went wrong.

There is another way to look at all of this. That is, it was a one hundred and ten thousand dollar advertisement for their Italian pizza company. Domino’s Pizza received free publicity throughout the country and has everyone talking about this. This has probably stirred a free pizza and other free food search all over the internet. People are now looking for other promotions not just in the pizza industry. It is seriously doubtful that it costs ten dollars a pizza pie as stated above. That is just the average selling price of the pizza. Their pizza company probably can produce a pizza pie for less than one dollar. Then to redo our numbers – eleven thousand pizza pies would equal only eleven thousand dollars. Or eleven thousand dollars for a giant pizza advertising campaign in the disguise of a mistake.

We hope that you have enjoyed our free pizza pie discussion!
